Eurex Reports Strong Growth Across Derivatives Markets in July 2026
Europe's leading derivatives exchange Eurex recorded robust performance across its markets during July 2026, with overall trading volumes climbing 16 percent compared to the same period last year.
Derivatives trading on the Eurex exchange reached 160.6 million contracts in July, up from 138.9 million contracts in July 2025. The growth was driven by strength across multiple asset classes:
- Interest rate derivatives showed the strongest performance, with volumes rising 23 percent to 92.8 million contracts from 75.4 million
- Equity derivatives increased 18 percent to 21.9 million contracts from 18.6 million
- Index derivatives grew more modestly at 3 percent, reaching 45.8 million contracts from 44.3 million
The exchange's clearing operations posted impressive results. Eurex Clearing's over-the-counter clearing business recorded notional outstanding volumes of EUR 55,028 billion in July 2026, representing a 20 percent increase from EUR 45,770 billion the previous year. Overnight index swaps emerged as a particular growth driver, surging 66 percent to EUR 9,821 billion, while interest rate swaps climbed 22 percent to EUR 23,450 billion.
Eurex Repo, the platform's electronic marketplace for secured funding, maintained strong momentum with average term-adjusted volumes reaching EUR 614.4 billion in July, a 58 percent increase year-on-year. The GC Pooling segment led this growth with a 63 percent jump to EUR 319.1 billion.
